Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Kuantyrov held a meeting with the General Director of Kazak Protein LLP, Yildiz Koksal Salih, during which they discussed current issues related to the project for deep processing of grains and legumes in Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, participants discussed the key stages in the implementation of the project for constructing an integrated agro-industrial complex in Astana, carried out by the Turkish holding Tiryaki Agro.
The total investment in the project will amount to $320 million, and its implementation will create more than 500 jobs. The complex will include two processing plants for wheat and peas, ensuring the production of high value-added products such as starch, gluten, lysine, glucose-fructose syrup, animal feed, and pea protein isolate. The annual raw material demand will be 250,000 tons of wheat and 80,000 tons of peas.
"Our plans include completing all necessary procedures for signing the Investment Contract and the Investment Agreement with the Government of Kazakhstan. We are also focused on addressing issues related to providing the project with engineering infrastructure, including water supply, gas supply, electricity, and railway logistics, in close cooperation with relevant government agencies. We are confident that the successful implementation of these stages will enable the creation of an advanced production facility that will make a significant contribution to Kazakhstan’s economy," noted Yildiz Koksal Salih.
In turn, A. Kuantyrov emphasized the strategic level of partnership with the Republic of Turkey and highlighted the importance of cooperation with Tiryaki Agro. He highly appreciated the company’s extensive experience in the agro-industrial sector and its contribution to the development of the processing industry. In this regard, the Deputy Minister expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support in the process of concluding the Investment Agreement.
The project is included in the list of 17 strategic initiatives aimed at developing Kazakhstan’s processing industry, diversifying the economy, and attracting foreign investment.
